Hurricane Irma Responsible for Killing At Least 73 People

Hurricane Irma ripped through many parts of the Carribbean and through the United States. Irma is responsible for killing at least 73 people and the death toll continues to rise as rescue crews continue their recovery efforts.

In Cuba, there were ten fatalities. Seven were found dead in Havana, two in Matanzas and another in Ciego de Avila.

In St. Martin, four people were found dead.

In St. Maarten, four more people were found dead. Five others were found dead in French territories.

One person was killed in Barbuda.

In Puerto Rico, three people were killed. One died of electrocution, one died after falling while being transported from a hospital to a shelter. The third victim died in a hospital following a car accident.

Four people died in the U.S. Virgin Islands and another four died in the British Virgin Islands.

One person died in Anguilla.

25 people lost their lives in Florida, including eight in Hollywood at a nursing home and eight others in Monroe County.

In Georgia, three people lost their lives and in South Carolina, an additional four died.
