Hurricanes Halt Skid With Victory Over Panthers

The Hurricanes ended their four-game slide with a 51-28 win on Saturday

The Miami Hurricanes finally returned to the win column with a 51-28 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday.

The win ended a four-game skid for the Hurricanes which dated back to October 8th. Miami is now 5-4 on the year and 2-3 in the conference. The Hurricanes led for most of Saturday's contest and increased their advantage in the second half.

When the two teams went into the locker room at the half, Miami held a six-point edge. It was after halftime that UM really opened things with a 24-7 run against Pittsburgh's defense.

Brad Kaaya had a strong day with four touchdowns and 356 yards. Miami's quarterback was also relatively efficient with his passes with a 32-47 day. Kaaya also added 20 rushing yards on the ground and did a good job of maintaining possessions all game long.

Stacy Coley came down with two touchdown receptions for Miami, while David Njoku picked up the other pair. Even though he did not find the end zone in this one, Ahmmon Richards played a big role as well. Richards had 144 yards combined on eight receptions with his longest going for 41.

Mark Walton had a solid game himself with 125 yards on the ground. Walton would also run into the end zone for Miami's final touchdown of the day.

UM will travel to Virginia next Saturday to take on the Cavaliers at 2:00 p.m.
