I-75 Closed

Alligator Alley gets shutdown again this weekend

Florida Highway Patrol shut down Alligator Alley in both directions early Saturday morning, citing visibility as the concern. Fog and brush fires near mile marker 80 in Collier County are keeping the roadway closed for travel.

Westbound lanes will be closed at US-27, while eastbound lanes will be closed at mile marker 101 in Collier County. State Road 29 will also be closed from US 41 north.

Travelers who rely on the roadway will have to find an alternative route, meaning longer travel times and more gas for your car to guzzle. The Sun-Sentinel suggests westbound traffic from the south use US-27 south to Krome Avenue to US 41 and go west. From the north, use US -27 north to State Road 80 and go west.
