A couple from Chicago celebrating their two year anniversary says they were kicked out of a popular South Florida resort due to the color of his skin.

Rami Ziyadat and Taylor Schneider said they were relaxing by the pool on Tuesday at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort when a pool worker confronted Rami.

"She told me ‘you don’t look like you belong here, I’m calling security,'" said Ziyadat. "I was shocked because I never dealt with anything like that in my life."

'Uncertainty Everyday': Brother Seeks Answers in 2016 Disappearance of Sister, Niece

Nearly three years after a South Florida mother and her young daughter disappeared, family members are still searching for answers.

Liliana Moreno and her 8-year-old daughter Daniela were last seen in May of 2016 before they vanished without a trace.

In June 2016, a search was launched with dogs and dozens of volunteers tracking through swampy brush near their Doral home and in a nearby lake, but no signs of the family were found.

Plantation High's Madelyn Saven in a League of Her Own

She's heard it all before. Girls can't throw, why are you wasting your time on baseball, why don't you play softball, all the tired clichés come Madelyn Saven's way, and she just hits them out of the park.

"I prove people wrong every day,” Madelyn said, without a hint of anger or exasperation. "Have fun, don't think too much, and just play."

Madelyn, or Maddie as everyone calls her, plays second base and pitches for the Plantation High School Colonels varsity baseball team. She’s the only girl playing high school baseball in Broward County and possibly in all of South Florida.

"Every time somebody else comes to the field they’re like, wait a second, that’s a girl? I’m like, yeah, that’s a girl, she can play baseball,” said Manny Aguilar, Plantation High’s baseball coach.

It could be said that Maddie is in a league of her own.

“I thought it was a slam dunk,” Bill Mayhew told NBC 6 Responds.

Another traveler said, “I thought that the purpose of travel insurance would be our safety net if something happened.”

But according to a national consumer group, those consumers thought wrong.
