It's not too hard to push free pancakes. Cooks at IHOP on NW 42nd Avenue started serving them up at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The short stacks are free, but waitresses hope you'll make a donation to the Children's Miracle Network, which benefits Miami Children's Hospital.

Customers stuffed dollar bills into a donation box near the front door.

"All of those dollars go directly to our local hospital," said Lisa Gallion, area director for IHOP.

Ten-year-old Braulio Quintana couldn't wait to taste the fluffy buttermilk cakes before heading to class for statewiide testing. He woke his mom up early.

"I knocked on her door and told her it was 5 o'clock," he said. His motherr sent him back to bed, but roused the family early enough so they could all enjoy the pancakes.

You can enjoy a free short stack at any IHOP nationwide until 10 p.m. tonight.
