Janepsy Carballo Revenge Killing Trial Continues for Third Day

New evidence was unveiled in the trial of a South Florida woman charged with killing her husband's business partner. Prosecutors say the evidence sheds new light on what may have led to the fatal shooting.

Janepsy Carballo shot Ilam Nissim six times back in 2008. She claimed self-defense, saying Nissim had murdered her husband a month before and then came after her. But prosecutors say the killing was all about money, greed and revenge.

The Drug Enforcement Agency ran an undercover investigation at the company Carballo worked for to see if it was a pill mill. In an audiotape from a DEA informant, Carballo talked at length about Nissim and her husband's relationship.

"I guess it was just jealousy and hate because there was no reason for him to do what he did," Carballo can be heard saying in the tape.

She went on talking about why she believed Nissim killed her husband and how she dealt with it.

"Trust me, life has a way of working things always to my favor," Carballo said in the tape.

If convicted of second-degree murder, Carballo could face 15 years to life in prison.
