Jeb Bush to Attend Donor Event in Miami

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will attend a donor event next week in South Florida.

An invitation on his Right to Rise PAC website is advertising a reception for Jeb and wife Columba Bush. Miami political blogger Elaine De Valle posted a story on her website saying it could be where he officially announces his 2016 White House bid.

The Jorge Mas Canosa Youth Center is where the reception will be held next Monday.

However, an NBC 6 source said no announcement is planned for next Monday.

In the meantime, Miami's other presidential hopeful, Sen. Marco Rubio, is about a month into his campaign and doing well in the polls.

The latest NBC news Wall Street Journal survey has Gov. Bush leading with 23 percent. Sen. Rubio is second with 18 percent while Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker rounds out the top three with 14 percent support.

And while it's early, De Valle thinks two frontrunners, from the Miami area, shines an even brighter spotlight on Florida.

"I think that South Florida will be very much in the consideration of the White House, that is a good thing," she said. "I just love to see our South Florida politics at a national stage, I think that is a good thing for everybody."
