Judge Orders $300,000 Bond for Former Coconut Creek Preschool Teacher Facing Molestation Charges

A judge ordered $300,000 bond for a former Coconut Creek preschool teacher who faces multiple charges of lewd and lascivious molestation.

Olakunle Omomowo has three cases being prosecuted against him.

He faces charges of molesting three 4-year-old girls at Discovery Preschool in Coconut Creek, according to authorities.  He was a music teacher at the school but was fired after his arrest.

"My daughter is different than she was before. She was my happy girl and now I have to see her talk about what he did. I have to see her cry. I have to see her being angry that something happened to her after I explained that there are bad guys in the world," said one of the mother's who didn't want to be identified to protect her daughter's identity.

She was among those in court on Tuesday.

Attorney Jeff Herman said these are not the first allegations against Omomowo.

Omomowo’s attorney argued there was no substance to the allegations. She said the children seem to have been coached in their interviews with police, but Judge Marc Gold called the evidence significant.

Herman says the young age of the accusers makes them more credible.

"Actually, science shows that 4-year-old kids are more reliable than older children because there's no incentive for them to lie. They don't understand," he said.

The mother said she thinks there are more families out there. She urged them to come forward.

If he is released from jail, he will be on house arrest throughout his trial.
