Juvenile Shot, Critically Injured in Northwest Miami Shooting: Police

The family of a 17-year-old who was shot in Liberty City on Saturday is searching for answers.

“If y’all know anything, just come clean,” said Desiree, the victim’s aunt. “He’s been shot twice. Twice! Once in the neck and in the back.”

Deion Hudson’s aunt says the gunfire started with an argument in her neighborhood near the 500 block of Northwest 64th Street. Miami Police said the teenager was shot around 12:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

“Detectives are speaking to a possible witness who may have seen a bit more as to what happened behind this apartment building,” said Kenia Fallat, a public information officer for the City of Miami Police Department.

Family members were waiting outside Ryder Trauma Center, saying their loved one was rushed into surgery.

Police are unaware of a possible motive or if there is more than one shooter responsible.

“My nephew is suffering. My nephew is in pain. So if you know something, turn yourself in,” said Desiree.

Anyone with information on this incident is being urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
