Killian Stabbing Victim Out of the Hospital

Teen Stabbing Victim Meets With State Attorney

15-year-old stabbing victim Deandre Johnson is out of the hospital. The Miami Killian Senior High School student is doing much better but will likely finish the school year at home.

Deandre Johnson is walking again, just weeks after depending on machines to keep him alive and breathing.

"Right here they had to open up my chest," Johnson said. "Two breathing tubes right there and one right here."

Last month a 17-year-old female student allegedly stabbed Deandre while going to class at Killian High School.

She punctured his right chest plate, lungs, and severed an artery.

"They said I had a very slim chance of surviving. I'm just thankful for God," he said.

Johnson is focused on his recovery and his attorney Judd Rosen is focusing on the case. Both showed up at Juvenile Court Thursday to meet with the State Attorney.

"The State Attorney said there's an ongoing investigation and they asked us not to discuss any of the facts regarding the attack," Rosen said.

The teenaged suspect is locked up pending her next court hearing. One of the things that will be decided is whether to charger her as an adult or a minor.

Johnson and the suspect do not know each other. But the suspect's attorney claims she is the victim of bullying and says she was raped at another school.

"We put our faith inn the State Attorney's Office and their judgement of the situation," Rosen said. "We do want to make sure she's nowhere near Deandre in the future and that she gets the help she needs."

"I'm just very thankful for the support," Johnson said. "You guys have been behind me my back... and I'm just thankful."
