Largest McDonald's Closes in Orlando

The world's largest McDonald's fast-food restaurant closed in Orlando's tourist corridor, but it is being replaced by a new structure next door.

The McDonald's near the intersection of International Drive and Sand Lake Road shut its doors last week.

The restaurant designed like a french fries box opened in 1976 and it has been a fixture on International Drive, the roadway that cuts through the heart of Orlando's tourism corridor. The restaurant had a bowling alley, slides and video games.

A new 19,000-square-foot McDonald's will open in February.
