In the wake of Hurricane Michael’s devastation, local organizations like Feeding South Florida and volunteers are stepping up to help those in need.
2,000 boxes are leaving the Feeding South Florida food bank in Pembroke Park and heading to Panama City to feed suffering families in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
Over 100 employee-volunteers teamed up, assembly line style, to get food boxes ready and distributed as quickly as possible.
“It feels good,” said Jason of BBX Capital about giving back. “Living in South Florida, I understand hurricanes.”
The company started the group volunteer effort after Irma.
“It all started with one employee wanting to help,” said the president of BBX Capital.
The group reached their goal of packing 30,000 meals.
