Nearly 100 protestors gathered outside of the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office Friday afternoon chanting “lock her up” in regards to Dr. Brenda Snipes. The department’s delay in counting ballots has put the South Florida county under scrutiny as three statewide races appear to be heading toward recounts.
Canvassing board members were meeting to discuss provisional ballots and the tallying of votes in a public meeting. Attorneys for the candidates and select members from the Republican and Democratic parties were seen entering the meeting.Media outlets were temporarily barred from attending.
Many of the protestors appeared to be supporters of President Trump, with some holding "Trump 2020" signs. Several protestors were also seen carrying signs in support of Andrew Gillum.
