Lucky Ticket Holders Receiving Holiday CAMACOL Food Baskets Wednesday

Thousands of Miami residents are waiting for a very special holiday gift – one that has been a South Florida tradition for nearly three decades.

CAMACOL, the largest Latin American chamber of commerce group, will be handing out their Christmas food baskets to the 3,000 lucky people who received tickets outside their offices on West 14th Avenue and Flagler Street.

Thousands of people lined up for days – in some cases over a week – for one of the lucky tickets during the Thanksgiving holiday. Each ticket entitled them to a basket with hundreds of dollars’ worth of food that can feed a family of 10.

Florida Governor Rick Scott will be on hand to help hand out the baskets, a tradition that started in the late 1980’s and has expanded over the years to feed more and more lucky families.
