The Orlando Police Department said a man who claimed to have a gun inside of a hospital has been shot and killed by police. The man was not armed.
Orlando Police Chief John Mina said the suspect did not have a gun but made movements "consistent with retrieving a firearm" after claiming to have a weapon.
Officers went to the hospital "in response to a male subject who is claiming to be in possession of a weapon," police said.
Police said the area should be avoided as the situation, though contained, is ongoing. Orlando Health said no injuries occurred.
