Man, 2 Teens Arrested After Escort Carjacked at Gunpoint in Miami-Dade

A Miami man and two teens are facing charges after police say an escort who thought she was meeting with a client was carjacked at gunpoint.

Eduardo Bustamante, 27, was arrested Monday on charges of armed carjacking, conspiracy to commit carjacking and contributing to the delinquency of a child, according to an arrest report. A 17-year-old suspect was also charged with carjacking and a 16-year-old suspect was arrested on undisclosed charges.

According to the report, the escort was contacted by phone on September 5 by Bustamante, who requested her services, and she agreed to meet him in the area of Southwest 122nd Avenue and Southwest 202nd Street.

When she arrived, Bustamante sat in her car and the two talked. At one point, the 16-year-old approached the car and pointed a handgun at the woman and ordered her out, the report said. The 16-year-old got in the driver's seat and they drove away, the report said.

The 17-year-old, who was with Bustamante and the other teen during the carjacking but was hiding, was stopped by police the next day as he was driving the car, the report said. The teen gave police information about Bustamante and how he planned the carjacking with the other teen, the arrest report said.

The victim later identified Bustamante in a six-person photographic lineup, the report said. Bustamante was ordered held without bond during an appearance in court Tuesday. He was also appointed a public defender.
