Authorities arrested a Lake Worth man after he allegedly poured bleach into his girlfriend’s alcohol to punish her for drinking all day, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Gerardo J. Vilca, 45, was arrested Friday by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and faces charges including aggravated assault and battery, the newspaper said. He was released from jail on $5,000 bond.

The 31-year-old woman told deputies Vilca poured bleach into her alcohol bottle and then gave it to her to drink from. She added that Vilca kicked her, although he denied the allegation and said he pushed her, according to an arrest report.

“I only put bleach in her alcohol bottle because she’s been drinking all day with her friends from across the street,” Vilca said, according to an arrest report.
