Man Accused of Trying to Lure Underage Girl Into Car Arrested in Deerfield Beach

A man was arrested in Deerfield Beach after authorities said he was trying to lure underage girls into his car with money.

Roberto Noel, 37, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of interfering with the custody of a minor, Broward County jail records showed.

Investigators said Noel, who lives in Pompano Beach, was driving around offering girls $500 to get into his car. A probable cause affidavit suggested it wasn't the first time he'd tried to lure minors, but prosecutors said Noel doesn't have a criminal history.

A 14-year-old girl told NBC 6 she was walking her dog in her Lighthouse Point neighborhood when the man drove up to her stopped his car and got out.

"He offered me $500 to get in," the girl said.

In court Wednesday, a judge gave Noel a $250,000 bond, and ordered him to stay away from minors who aren't his blood relatives. Attorney information wasn't available.
