One man was airlifted to the hospital and later died after being shot following a possible road rage incident in Opa-locka Friday morning.

The city’s police chief confirmed that one man was shot and another was being questioned after the incident happened near Northwest 135th Street and 42nd Avenue just after 7:15 a.m.

Miami-Dade Police said the incident started when two men got into a fight and got out of their cars, with one man opening fire.

"We tried to make this left-hand turn ... dude cut us off, got out of the car and shot my brother in the face," the victim's brother, who was in the car with him during the incident, told NBC 6.

He said his brother had just arrived from Tennessee for a roofing job in South Florida.

"We were on our way to work," the brother said. "I just flew him in to Fort Lauderdale three days ago to come work with me."

Police say the 22-year-old shooter stayed on the scene and called 911 while the 24-year-old victim was taken to Ryder Trauma Center, where he later died.

"Awesome dude," the brother said. "All he wanted to do was buy his wife a freaking car and he loves fishing. Great dude, man."
