A 36-year-old man has been arrested months after authorities say he crashed his SUV into a Florida mobile home, killing a man and his pregnant girlfriend.
Christian Crawford of Bradenton was arrested Wednesday and faces three counts of DWI-manslaughter among other charges.
The crash happened April 1 in Palmetto, which is south of St. Petersburg. According to accident reports, the SUV crossed the median, crashed through a fence and struck the mobile home.
The impact killed 21-year-old Ivan Carlos and 18-year-old Brenda Avilez, who was nine-months pregnant. Investigators say they were sleeping when the crash occurred.
Palmetto police Chief Scott Tyler says more details will be released during a news conference Thursday morning.
Crawford remains in the Manatee County Jail. Records don't indicate whether he has an attorney.
