Miami Police said they arrested a 56-year-old suspect who broke into an elderly woman’s home as she was sleeping and fondled her a few weeks ago.
Miguel Chavez faces charges of sexual battery, battery on a person 65 or older and burglary with an assault for the Sept. 25 assault on the 66-year-old victim, according to an arrest affidavit.
Chavez jumped on top of the woman before he began to choke her, rip off her clothes and touch her, touching himself as he did so, according to police.

He also faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence because he fought with officers before they took him into custody on Monday, according to a second arrest affidavit.
Chavez was being held on no bond Tuesday night, according to online Miami-Dade Corrections records. It was not immediately known whether he has an attorney.
