Man Arrested For Possessing Child Porn: Cops

Perez had a photo of a coworker’s half-naked 16-year-old daughter on his cell phone, police said

Davie Police arrested a Coral Springs man they said had suggestive photos of an underage girl on his cell phone, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Carlos Perez, 61 was arrested at work Thursday and was charged with possession of child pornography, according to online arrest records. He was held on $10,000 bond.

Perez had a photo of a coworker’s half-naked 16-year-old daughter on his cell phone, according to an arrest report. He is accused of having a two-year sexual relationship with her that began when the girl was 14, police said.

In 2010 investigators said a neighbor reported seeing the pair kissing in a car outside of the young girl’s home.

The girl’s father filed an injunction against Perez that said he must stay at least 500 feet away from her. Perez was arrested in April for coming within 200 feet of the girl in her school parking lot, the report said.

During an interview, the girl said she had a relationship with Perez and that they would have sex in his car after he picked her up from school, police said. She also said she would send photos to his phone.

"During the course of that arrest we take his property [including] his cell phone and we put it into our property unit," Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle was quoted as saying. "The phone is the key here."

Police said they believe Perez may face more charges.
