On Sunday, police got information, and made contact with Williams and found his roommate, 69-year-old James Thomas White, dead inside the home, they said.

”We’ve never had anything like that happening in our neighborhood before so it was really scary,” said Sophia Morris, who lives next door. “And we didn't really know what happened because the police weren't telling us anything.”

The investigation showed that he suffered extensive blunt force trauma to the head, and they found that the killing may have happened on Friday night over a fight about illegal drugs, police said.

It wasn't immediately known if Williams had an attorney.

“It does bother me but what can you do? People are crazy, people smoke crack,” said Jamar Henry, who lives in the neighborhood.
