A man who allegedly broke into the Little Havana home of a 103-year-old woman was taken into custody early Friday.
Neighbors said they called police after they saw the man breaking into the home at 729 Northwest 1st Street around 3 a.m.
Officers arrived and took the man, 57-year-old Carlos Palma Vidal, into custody at the home.
Vidal was charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and was being held on $12,500 bond Friday. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
Family members said the elderly owner of the home, Hildila Marquez, had been staying at her great-granddaughter's house and wasn't home at the time of the burglary.
