Father Assaults Man He Thought Was Hollywood Peeping Tom: Police

A father was arrested for allegedly beating a man he thought was the peeping Tom that was caught on camera looking inside his daughter's bedroom window.

The Hollywood Police Department is still looking for a man who was seen on surveillance video on Sept. 19 masturbating while looking into a girl's bedroom window. The lewd and lascivious act happened at around 5:26 a.m. in the 6000 block of Funston Street, police said.

Kepins St. Vil of Hollywood is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading law enforcement after he allegedly assaulted a man he thought was responsible.

Prosecutors say while the man St. Vil assaulted was a career criminal, he did not match the description of the peeping Tom.

St. Vil's wife pleaded with the judge on Friday to release her husband on bond.

"I mean everyone's traumatized," she said. "I was up all night looking through the window."

St. Vil was granted a $6,000 bond but remains in jail as of Friday night.

Police on Wednesday released footage that shows a man entering the property, taking off his shorts and then masturbating while looking into a juvenile female's bedroom window, police said. He is then seen running away, only to return a few minutes later to sit beneath the victim's window and smoke a cigarette.

"The moment I saw it, I wanted to throw up," said St. Vil told NBC 6 on Wednesday. "I'm angry. I want justice."

The man is described as 25 to 30-years-old, thin build, with dark hair, a "distinctive hairline," and a full facial beard, police said. He was wearing a light-colored t-shirt, light-colored shorts, dark shoes and a baseball cap.
