A North Lauderdale man was arrested for hitting and kicking his wife because she didn't make him coffee and set his clothes out before he left for work, authorities said.
James Persad, 46, was arrested Thursday on a domestic violence charge, according to online arrest records. He was being held in jail on Friday on $60,000 bond.

The man struck his wife twice in the face with an open hand, the Broward Sheriff's Office complaint affidavit said.

Before leaving the house, he kicked her in the stomach, the report said. A deputy who arrived on scene said he observed “slight redness” to her face consistent with a strike, the affidavit said.
There was an active injunction prohibiting Persad from coming into contact with his wife, but he recently moved back into the home, according to the complaint.
