Police: Man Confronts Ex-Wife, Fatally Shoots Her Boyfriend

Authorities have arrested a Tallahassee man who allegedly confronted his ex-wife and fatally shot her boyfriend, who tried to intervene.

Tallahassee Police say Sheldon Maurice Rogers confronted the couple with a gun at their home early Sunday. Police say Moise Joseph stepped between Rogers and his girlfriend, telling her to run.

According to police, Rogers shot Joseph several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Joseph saved his girlfriend's life, allowing her to run to safety and call 911. She was not injured. Officers stopped Rogers as he was driving away from the area.

Rogers was held without bail on premeditated murder and aggravated assault charges. His first appearance is scheduled Tuesday. Leon County jail records didn't know whether he had an attorney.
