Man Found Unresponsive in Fontainebleau Hotel Pool Dies: Officials

A man who was hospitalized after he was found unresponsive in the pool at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach has died, officials said Monday.

According to Miami Beach Fire Rescue teams, a 20-30 year old male was found unconscious in the pool at the hotel at 4441 Collins Avenue around 10 a.m. Monday.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. He later died at the hospital, Miami Beach Police said.

Hotel officials said the man was a visitor of a hotel guest.

"The hotel is currently working with authorities in regards to the incident," a statement from the hotel said.

A spokesperson for the city confirmed that rescue crews were at the scene.
