Marion County Man Held on Bond After Taking Pictures of 10-Year-Old Boy in Restroom

The man is being held on $20,000 bond.

A Marion County man is behind bars after he took pictures of a 10-year-old boy using the restroom at a department store, officials said.

A witness saw Maximo Deherrera, 63, slide his camera phone down the side of a urinal divider and take a picture of the boy using the urinal next to him, according to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The witness, Peter Farley, noticed a flash go off and confronted Deherrera about taking the picture, so Deherrera began to delete the photos. Farley told staff about the incident and followed Deherrara out of the store.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage that shows Deherrera hanging around the toy section of the store and following the victim into the restroom. Deputies are not release the surveillance footage.

Deherrera has been charged with video voyeurism and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
