Hialeah police confirmed that an investigation is underway after a man was shot in the stomach at a motel on W. Okeechobee Road.
The shooting at the Hialeah Star Motel was reported at 8 a.m.Tuesday morning. Police said they found one male with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hostpital where his condition is unknown.
The suspected shooter stayed on the scene and surrendered to police without resistance. The motive and any possible criminal charges are pending further investigation, according to police.
