The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating a shooting involving a sheriff's deputy that left a Florida man injured.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says deputies went to a domestic call Saturday and found an injured woman. While tending to her, officials heard a shot inside the house. Then 47-year-old Kenneth Scott Bartram stepped outside, armed with a long gun.
Authorities said that in order to regain control, one deputy used "deadly force" and fired at Bartram. He was flown to a hospital where he is in stable condition. He's been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
The deputy who fired the shot, Daniel J. Snyder, has been placed on paid administrative leave while the FDLE and the Hernando Sheriff's Office conducts an investigation.
