Man Left ‘Disturbing, Explicit' Letters on Women's Cars in Aventura: Police

A man accused of leaving "disturbing and explicit" handwritten notes on women's cars in an Aventura shopping center has been arrested, authorities said.

Cavakia Therlonge, 41, was arrested Friday on a charge of loitering or prowling in the parking lot of the Whole Foods on Biscayne Boulevard, Aventura Police said.

Police said Therlonge was continually placing the notes on women's vehicles over the past two weeks, and was targeting women who are pregnant or were there with children.

The notes included the names of Instagram accounts which helped officers identify Therlonge, according to an arrest report.

Detectives decided to conduct surveillance on the parking lot and saw Therlonge write several handwritten notes, the report said. He would also follow women from their cars into Whole Foods and a nearby Target, the report said.

When officers stopped Therlonge, he said he was "only trying to put out positive energy into the universe," the report said. Therlonge admitted to leaving hundreds of similar notes from South Beach to Fort Lauderdale, the report said.
