Police are searching for a South Florida man who allegedly stole jewelry from the home of an elderly couple after pretending to be an exterminator to get inside their home.

According to NBC affiliate WPTV, officers in Delray Beach say 33-year-old Angelo Demetro knocked on the door of a couple in their 70s and claimed to be checking for termites. The victims let him in assuming he was allowed by the homeowners’ association.

Once inside, investigators say he went to the kitchen and bedroom before leaving and saying another person would be back to spray the home. That’s when the homeowner noticed items missing and called police.

Officers say they were able to get fingerprints that connected them to the Fort Lauderdale native, who could be driving a 2019 silver Chevrolet Silverado.
