Man Shoots Mother-In-Law, Self Over Divorce

West Palm Beach husband blamed break-up with wife on in-laws

A West Palm Beach man who believed his in-laws broke up his marriage shot his mother-in-law before turning the gun on himself Monday night.

George Delva, 47, was found at a home in the 1700 block of 37th St. around 6 p.m., according to WPTV.

Delva's mother-in-law, 65-year-old Rosette Charles, was also found in the home with three gunshot wounds. Charles was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Also hospitalized was a man in his 70s, believed to be Charles' husband, who had chest pains after witnessing the shooting.

Police said kids were inside the home at the time of the shooting, and were able to get the gun away from Delva after he shot Charles, but that he demanded it back and then shot himself.
