Man Shot Inside Car in Lauderhill: Police

Police are investigating after a man was shot inside his car in Lauderhill Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened as the man was picking up his friend for work in the 5800 block of Northwest 23rd Street, Lauderhill Police said.

Officials said the driver was approached by a suspect, who shot him and fled the scene on foot. The driver was taken to Broward General Hospital where he's expected to survive.

"We don't know if it was the vehicle or something in the car he was demanding, but it looks like it was going to be a robbery attempt," police explained.

Police haven't released the identity of the victim. They described the suspect as a black male with a thin build.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
