Three people were arrested and a man in Opa-locka is recovering after being shot over a dozen times with a paintball gun Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the scene outside the Family Dollar Store located at 14400 Northwest 27th Avenue. The victim, Jerry Watson, told NBC 6 he ran inside the store after shots began to be fired, but he was not seriously injured.

"In my rear view, I seen them jump out," Watson said. "I saw a lady, an old lady. I thought she was going to get hurt so I was waiting to see what they were going to do and they just came forward to me."

"I thought it was a real gun. I thought I was going to get jacked, or they was going to shoot me," he added.

Police in Miami Gardens later pulled over a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. Three people - Tyrese Ferguson, Antwon Adams and a juvenile male - were arrested and charged with battery.

Ferguson and Adams are being held on $1,500 bond.
