Man Sought in Fatal Shooting of Woman on Miami Beach

Detectives are looking for 33-year-old Keith Brown, who has an extensive criminal past.

A man was sought in connection with a fatal shooting on Miami Beach over the weekend as detectives released new surveillance video in the case.

Detectives are looking for 33-year-old Keith Brown, who has an extensive criminal past, in Sunday's fatal shooting of 32-year-old Latoya Michelle Wiggins, Miami Beach police said Wednesday.

The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. in the northwest corner of 10th Street and Collins Avenue. Police said a woman was involved in an altercation with a man before he shot her at least three times.

Police released surveillance video Wednesday of the subject running from the scene moments after the shooting. Previously released footage showed people scrambling for cover as bullets flew.

Wiggins was known to the department's human trafficking investigators and was also a cooperative witness in an active but separate human trafficking case, police said.

Brown's grandmother, Roberta Flennory, said she last spoke with him last week.

"When I did see him, yeah, I asked him to get help cause I saw something was wrong with him," she said. "He wasn't right. And I told him, boy, you need to go get some help."

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
