Man, Stepson Dead in West Palm Beach Murder-Suicide: Authorities

A man stabbed his stepson before barricading himself inside a West Palm Beach home and turning the knife on himself Monday, authorities said.

The victim, 43-year-old old Robert Lee, was taken in critical condition to Delray Medical Center, but died there Monday night, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Teri Barbera told WPTV.

The body of his stepfather, 55-year-old Hiep Le, was found inside the home in the area of Pine Way and Purdy Lane Monday afternoon, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

He had self-inflicted stab wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Deputies were called to the home after the two got into in a heated argument over disciplining Lee's son. The fight turned physical with Le attacking his stepson, the sheriff's office said. Lee ran to a neighbor's home for help while his stepfather barricaded himself. Le's wife was also cut in the hands, though not seriously.

Le refused numerous commands to surrender and he was later found dead.
