A man was arrested at the Miami International Airport for stealing a luggage off a carousel, authorities said.
Tony Darnell Fisher, 43, was arrested Thursday night and faces charges including battery on a law enforcement officer, grand theft and resisting arrest with violence.
According to the Miami-Dade Police arrest affidavit, a detective saw Fisher take a luggage off a carousel in Terminal D and walk away. Authorities followed him and tried to arrest him when he ran out fo the terminal, the affidavit said.
He ran into a construction site, where he struggled with a detective and ran through the site, the report said. K9 and air units were called and he was captured.
The affidavit says Fisher admitted to stealing the bag because "he needed the money."
It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
