A man is facing an animal cruelty charge after police say he was caught stealing pigeons from a home in Hialeah Wednesday.
Ariel Garcia, 46, is also facing burglary charges after a witness spotted him coming out of a neighbor's yard along West 37th Street, police said.
When officers searched Garcia's car, they found eight pigeons stuffed inside a plastic bag, officials said. Officers also found stolen power tools.
Garcia was arrested and booked into the Miami-Dade Jail where he was being held on $18,500 bond Thursday, records showed. It was unknown if he has an attorney.
