Man Stole Students' Personal Information: Miami-Dade Schools Police

A Hollywood man was arrested after he was found with the personal information of dozens of victims, including students, police said.

Renardo Anthony Smith, 22, is facing 62 counts of criminal use of personal identification information, according to a Miami-Dade Schools Police report.

Smith was being held Monday on $50,000 bond, Miami-Dade Jail records showed. It was unknown if he has an attorney.

According to the report, Smith and another person were pulled over in Miami Gardens during a gang sweep. When officers stopped the car they noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming out of the vehicle, the report said.

Smith consented to a search and officers found lists with over 50 names, dates of birth and social security numbers, the report said. The majority of the victims are former and current Miami-Dade public school students, the report said.

Officers contacted multiple victims to let them know their information had been used fraudulently, the report said.
