Miami Police are looking for a man who threatened a 13-year-old boy with a gun before robbing him of his gold necklace and bracelet.
Wednesday's incident was caught on camera just after 6 p.m. in the area of Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest Sixth Street.
Police say the boy was walking with some friends after school when a man who had been following them threatened the boy with a gun in his waistband, then proceeded to rob the boy in front of his friends and several witnesses.
"I was scared after. At first I thought it was like a friend but then I noticed it was a robbery and I got scared," said Brandon Moises, who was walking with the victim.
The suspect then took off running eastbound on Northwest Sixth Street, then crossed Northwest 12th Avenue and disappeared.
The teen is a student at the Sports Leadership and Management Academy. Principal Alex Tamargo sent a letter to parents Friday informing them of the incident.
"The student is unharmed. However, this incident is a good reminder that students need to be vigilant when they walk off campus. We encourage all our students to stay on campus when waiting to be picked up and to always stay in a group," the statement read, in part. "The safety and security of the children is of utmost importance to us and we take extra precautions to ensure the safety of our students. We have security on site during and after school hours and video surveillance."

The suspect is described as an adult black male who was last seen wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans. He appears to be roughly 5-feet 10-inches and weighs approximately 200 pounds with brown eyes.
