Man Tried to Kidnap 7-Year-Old Girl in Miami: Cops

Marcos Bauturera, 28, was arrested Sunday on charges including attempted kidnapping and battery

A man was arrested after police say he tried to kidnap a 7-year-old girl in Miami.

Marcos Bauturera, 28, was arrested Sunday on charges including attempted kidnapping and battery, according to an arrest report.

According to the report, the girl's mother had just arrived home in the 12000 block of Southwest 188th Terrace around 6:30 p.m. when the kidnapping attempt happened.

The report said the mother saw her daughter knocking and screaming at the passenger side window before she saw Bauturera grab the girl and tell her in Spanish "Let's go, let's go!"

The mother got out of car and ran toward Bauturera, who released the girl and ran off, the report said. She tried to follow him but lost track of him, but he was later arrested, the report said.

"I was nervous so I just stood still and then my mom told me to go inside," the girl told NBC 6 Monday. "She came out of the car, she heard me calling my mom because this guy was screaming and then he grabbed me and then he started to say 'come on' then he just let go and my mom started chasing him."

"I’m, 'don’t touch my kid.' Like kids are off limits. People want to do stuff to themselves, that’s fine. But leave the kids alone," mom Barbie Borges said. "That was my thing so I chased him, 'who do you think you are to put your hands on my child?'"

Bauturera appeared in court Monday where he was ordered held on $150,000 bond. He was appointed a public defender.
