Man Tried to Lure Kids with Candy: Miami PD

Police in the City of Miami are looking for a man who allegedly tried to lure a group of children with the promise of candy.

Miami Police say the 13-year-old victim, along with his four younger siblings, were walking in the area of Northwest 1st Place and Northwest 15th Street Wednesday morning in Miami when a man in a beige colored Nissan Maxima approached them.

According to police, the man stopped his car, opened his door and asked the children if they wanted to go to the store with him to get some candy.

"That is sick for people just to approach kids talking about 'let's get candy' and all of that, that is not cool at all," said Andrishia Bryce, the victim's cousin.

He never got out of the car or threatened the children, police say.

When one of the children pulled out a cell phone to call their mother, the suspect then shut his door and drove off, said police.

The man is described as a black male between 50 and 60 years of age with short black hair, a full gray beard and a slim build.

Police say he was last ween wearing a white shirt and black cargo pants.

He was driving a 2006-2008 model four-door beige colored Nissan Maxima.
