Police have arrested a man for allegedly trying to steal an elderly woman’s car Thursday afternoon in Northwest Miami-Dade.
According to police, the incident happened in the area of Northwest 12th Street and Northwest 72nd Avenue.
Investigators said a man approached the 2018 Jeep Cherokee driven by an elderly woman. The man then opened the driver’s door and tried to pull her out of the car. A bystander saw what was happening and intervened, causing the would-be crook to run away on foot.
Police eventually caught up with the suspect, who was identified as Angel Bruzon, 30.
The driver was not injured.
An investigation is now underway. It’s unclear what charges Bruzon will face.
