Man in Construction Outfit Robbed North Miami Beach GameStop: Police

Authorities are looking for a suspect who was caught on camera robbing a North Miami Beach GameStop store.

The robbery happened back on Oct. 13 at the store at 1453 Northeast 163rd Street, Miami-Dade Police said. Surveillance cameras clearly captured the suspect, who was wearing a bright yellow construction helmet and vest during the robbery.

According to police, the suspect tried to buy two game consoles with a credit card but when the transaction wasn't approved, he confronted an employee behind the counter while yelling profanities.

The man put his hand in his pocket and ordered the employee into a stockroom, and the employee complied, fearing he was armed, police said. After they left the stockroom, the robber and employee got into a physical altercation behind the counter.

The robber was able to leave with three game consoles, various video games and other items worth a total of about $800, police said. The employee wasn't injured.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
