It might be time to quit.
A Fort Lauderdale man was hospitalized Monday morning when his oxygen tank exploded while he was smoking a cigarette, officials said.
The incident happened at a home on the 600 block of Southwest 28th Terrace, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue spokesman Matt Little.
The unidentified man was transported by ambulance to Broward General Hospital, where his condition is unknown.
Oxygen tank users are told to turn off the device if they must light up, but in this case it might be time to try the patch.
