The Miami mother whose 18-month-old son died after he was left alone in a sweltering car for over six hours has been charged with manslaughter, officials said.
Elizabeth Cuesta, 39, left her young son strapped in his car seat in the back of her truck yesterday as she went to work around 9 a.m. at a strip mall at 84th Avenue and Flagler Street.
Nearly six hours passed before the boy's father found the boy, just before 3 p.m. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene, where they pronounced the young child dead.
Cuesta and her husband have another young son.
