Sean Nuñez, a 7 year-old, is fighting Leukemia. The family of four, including Sean’s brother, Kevin and parents Valeria and Gabriel, do not own a car and have limited income. They have had the burden of spending a lot of money renting a car to take their son to the hospital for treatment.
Having exhausted their savings, the family turned to the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation for financial assistance as their son battles this horrific disease. With a little extra help, the family’s burdens were somewhat eased with financial and grocery assistance. But there was still a need for reliable transportation.
Through their Drive Pink initiative, AutoNation has raised more than $15 million for cancer research and treatment and this holiday season is no different. NBC6's Kristin Sanchez was there when AutoNation Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Marc Cannon hopped in a brand new Toyota Camry with Miami Marlins Chief Executive Officer Derek Jeter to make a special delivery to the Nuñez family.
