Marlins to Celebrate 25th Anniversary With Special Logo

The Marlins will unveil a 25th anniversary logo on Tuesday at Marlins Park

The Miami Marlins will unveil a special logo in celebration of their 25th anniversary on Tuesday.

Marlins CEO Derek Jeter will reveal the special look, alongside original Marlin Charlie Hough. The logo announcement will be an invitation-only event and will take place at Marlins Park at 4:00 p.m.

In addition to the logo, it is likely that the Marlins will reveal other plans to celebrate the anniversary. When Miami celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the 2003 World Series championship, there were a number of different events. Plenty of Marlins from 2003 made appearances that season and a similar scenario may play out this time around.

Hough threw the first pitch in Marlins history in 1993 at Joe Robbie Stadium. The 70-year old has made appearances over the years at various celebrations. While Jeff Conine is considered Mr. Marlin, Hough has remained connected to the organization as well. Conine parted ways with the Marlins following the 2017 season and it remains to be seen if he will make a return for the 25th anniversary.

The Marlins have traded away multiple All-Stars this off-season and will be entering a rebuilding phase this season. Giancarlo Stanton, Dee Gordon, Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich have all been traded away already. Catcher J.T. Realmuto could also be dealt in the coming weeks.

Several roster spots will be up for grabs when the Marlins report to spring training later this month. The regular season is set to begin on March 29th.
